The universe of Design has some golden figures and Bernardo Figueiredo is one of them. Since 1962 Bernardo Figueiredo had been developing what he called "Brazilian Design": Furniture that valued national materials and techniques, such as leather, straw and jacaranda. His designs ideas and his products were used for the Itamaraty Palace project and the results were outstanding. The idea of the Bahia chair came from a trip to Salvador, where Bernando came across to several high-back chairs upholstered in natural rattan straw. Back of the chair and seat with natural rattan straw.
